I was surprised by what I saw in the London Guardian, about Maurice Sendak telling parents who thought "Wild Things" was too scary for their kids, to "go to hell." It seems odd that the author of children's books would respond in that manner.
Everyone is telling me that the movie is great, but yes, its really sad. I haven't seen it yet, only read the reviews, but it sounds like the movie is mimicking our 21st century society of parents divorcing, re-marrying (or re-co-habitating) and kids who sort of get lost in all of the chaos of this new type of life...
